Skin; is an indicator of your health. A well-nourished skin implies you are free of disorders and an undernourished skin denotes otherwise.

With age, the skin gradually begins to deteriorate. Scars, pigmentation, fine lines, and so many other signs begin to appear on the face.

There are several home remedies available but they seldom work.

What is microneedling?

Microneedling; also called collagen induction therapy, is a treatment that involves the use of tiny sterilized needles to prick the skin. The small wounds increase the production of elastin and collagen, in turn healing the skin.

Collagen is a protein, which provides the skin a smooth, youthful, firm, and stretchy texture. It is the reduction of collagen that causes signs of aging. Microneedling can also be employed to deposit vitamin C, topical tretinoin, and other medication deeper into the skin. They boost up the treatment.

Microneedling can be used to treat a bunch of facial issues including dark spots, scars, dilated pores, acne, stretch marks etc. It involves use of microperforations, which stimulate production of collagen and elastin. It helps even out skin tone, texture, and reduces visibility of fine lines.

The Procedure

A pen-like tool is used by dermats or experts to pin-prick the skin. The pricks aren’t visible after the procedure. Anesthesia may be used prior to the treatment to ease the pain and later serum might be applied. The entire process takes approximately 2 hours.

Advantages

▪ Microneedling requires no downtime and is minimally invasive.

▪ It works with people having good health. It should be avoided by pregnant women and people taking medications.

▪ It is considered to be effective, and ideal effects are seen after multiple sessions.

▪ It is also used for anti-aging procedures and is believed to promote hair growth.

Disadvantages

Generally Microneedling is considered a safe procedure with tolerable pain. But it comes with a few risks-

▪ It might cause dryness, redness, bruising, flaking, discomfort, and swelling at the site.

Severe side effects are caused only to people with other pre-existing issues like people on bleeding medications or acne medications.

Microneedling is not the same as plastic surgery hence recovery time is minimal. Results are generally seen within a week or two. One should make sure the dermatologist who treats your skin is trustworthy and expert in the field.

Clinicare microneedling is a safe treatment and gives a smoother, healthier looking skin, which lasts for about 6 months.
