Obesity is more of a medical condition, than a lifestyle problem. It is a condition in which a person gains a lot of fat in the body, to the extent that it negatively impacts your heal health, leading to several health problems and reduced life expectancy. Lack of balanced diet: If you are eating processed, junk, and fatty food all the time, it raises the cholesterol level in your body. Without regular exercise, the extra calories get stored in your body causing obesity.

Psychological factors: Emotional factors like stress, sadness, and felling of loneliness can also lead to weight gain. People in these situations tend to eat more which can cause the body to store extra calories.

Diseases: Conditions like hypothyroidism, diabetes, and polycystic ovary syndrome are all known to cause obesity. Thyroid and Type 2 diabetes are the two main causes of weight gain.
